12 Jan. 2009

Okay, so, I haven't updated in a while. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's been bookrush at work this past week. Yuck. It blows. But hey, it'll be alright. It's almost over. Went to Montgomery yesterday and saw some people I hadn't seen in about eight years. I'm so glad I am who I am and haven't fallen prey to the worst this world has to offer.

So, yeah, I'm boring lately. Classes are cool, I really like them. And only have them on tuesdays and thursdays. But hey, I'm tired. I'm out of here. I'll be more interesting later.

7 Jan. 2009

Well, I haven't updated in a couple nights. Mostly cuz I have gotten in way late or was way tired. It has been pretty uneventful but for a couple things.

I worked two nine hour shifts this week, having called in yesterday due to a relapse of sickness. Though I felt pretty horrible yesterday for most of the day, I was well enough to go do a lower-body workout last night. Me and by good friend/spotter went after that to see a VERY flooded Black Warrior river. It rose probably a foot-and-a-half last night in the three hours we were out there. I have been told that the lightposts were covered this morning. The river hasn't been anywhere near this high since 1990. It's a once in a lifetime-type thing to watch the river creep up like that.

Me and my friend Alex have been working out together. Well, I have been teaching him how to work out and I've been working out while showing him. We went the past two nights, Monday night not being too badly crowded at the Rec Center on campus. But man, last night people were pissing me off. But we have decided that we will start going at six in the morning. Starting tomorrow. So, yeah. It'll be pretty intense.

I also start classes tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it because all my classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Plus, I will finally learn how to program in HTML, get to study hardcore on some Shakespeare, figure out if education is the path I want to go, and learn the lay of the land a bit more. It's gonna be cool.

But hey, it's getting about time for me to go to bed so I can wake up early. Goodnight. Take care of yourself and each other.

5 Jan. 2009

So, um, yeah. Bookrush. It started today. That is the only bad thing about working in the campus bookstore. The idiots that come in that don't know their alphabet or how to count. Screw those guys, man. They suck. Luckily, I got pulled over to verify web/mail orders. It's nice because they have to take what they ordered. And don't ask dumb questions like, "Can I get this one-time access code USED?" I'd just love to be able to say, "Yes, you ignorant slut. The whole world revolves around getting you one step closer to getting another cock in you at a lower impact on Daddy's wallet." Wait, you can't tell that I am bitter about that? NO WAY! I apologise. Sorta. But not really. Working from 9-6:30 with only thirty minutes for a lunch break makes you VERY cynical. And in a hurry.

In good news!

I got back in the gym today! And I'm teaching my best friend how to powerlift. I also ran into a good friend I hadn't seen in a couple years and got to catch up with him. Poor guy. He's been through a lot. I just wish I had been able to help him through it. And then I got to hide my elusiveness from a bunch of friends that are used to that from me. Which was very neat. I love them. And I love you! It could be the exhaustion talking, but I'm pretty sure it's not. You pretty much rock. Anyways, I need sleep. I have another long day ahead of me. Peace!

4 Jan. 2009

So, yeah, I don't know what happened when I posted. Anywho...

Okay, okay. I didn't post last night. You can't win all the time. Unless, of course, you are talking about Golf on the NES. Yeah, I stayed up till about three this morning playing that son of a bitch. It all started when my brother and his family came over for dinner last night. They put in Mamma Mia in the living room, me and my brother retired to my room and started to play video games. It was very pleasant. We hadn't gotten to spend quality time together in a while, which is gonna change Thursday night when we get together to watch It's Always sunny in Philadelphia and Testees.

So, today, I worked. 12:30 to 4:30. It wasn't bad, but it was just dead as hell in the bookstore. But things started looking up after I got off for the day. My best friend called me to come eat dinner with her and her mom, which was wonderful. She is going to college in Missouri and I have only seen her once this whole winter holiday. And the meatloaf that Mom made was AMAZING (yes, I call her mom "Mom." It's part of it.). We went to Strip Teas afterwards and it was kinda strange because nobody I knew was working. I'm used to going in there and not even having to mention being in the coffee club. It was a good night to end a mediocre day. I really have nothing to report, as all I have really done is work this weekend, as well as forgetting that it WAS the weekend. And sadly, I will be working everyday till six-thirty until Thursday when I start classes.

Well, I must bid you all a fond adieu. See you tomorrow!

2 Jan. 2009

So, I'm not too terribly happy right now. Alabama got beat by 14 points in the Sugar Bowl tonight. Sure, Andre Smith's dumb ass couldn't hold on one more week to contact a pro agent. Sure, Glen Coffee got injured. Sure, this, that, and the other happened to BAMA. However, unlike most teams that would crumple under such circumstances, the Tide was able to keep the train from getting run on them with second string players. Not only that, but we had an undefeated regular season with a VERY young team. Only NINE scholarship seniors. That says something right there. You gotta put 22 on the field. And nine ain't 22. I am very pleased with the season, though it did not turn out the way I would have liked it to. And I am extremely proud of someone I can call a friend and a former teammate, John Michael Boswell, number 67. He played In over half the games this season as a true freshman. That says something right there. We have 246 days till kickoff against Virginia Tech. Let's make the most of it. ROLL TIDE! HAIL SABAN!

1 January 2009

So, this is the start of a new year. There are some changes to be made this time around. I feel kinda strange doing a blog, putting some personal stuff out there. Perhaps someone will find some comfort in my words. Which would be awesome.

This Fall semester was pretty rough. I was supposed to make a 3.0 semester GPA to keep my scholarship, but it came out to 2.665, so now I must plead my case to prove that I have made enough progress to deserve keeping the scholarship. I feel that I have, and hopefully I can convince the scholarship board of the same.

Which brings me to my resolutions for 2009. Here they are, folks:

1. I will make at least a "B" in all my classes. I need to put more effort into all of my classes, not just the upper-level ones. It may seem strange, but it is the 100 level courses that I seem to have the biggest problems with. I have Geography 101 this semester, and will be putting as much effort into it as I will my 200 and 300 level courses.

2. I will benchpress at least 300 lbs. and squat at least 500 lbs. by the end of Summer. Yes, those are fairly lofty goals, but I was benching 275 in high school just over two years ago and squatting about 475. It will take time and effort to get back to these weights, but I'm cool with that. It will be good for my body and mind to be back in the weight room.

3. I will be in bed by 11:00 starting the fourth. I will have an eight o' clock class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so if I can get to bed by eleven every night, I can wake up by six and be in good shape to get there on time. And again, this will be good for body and mind. It's about time that I start getting rested, in spite of my insomniac tendencies.

4. My room will stay clean. I did a complete overhaul cleaning this holiday break. I already feel much better and school hasn't even started. If I can avoid the clutter, I have a feeling things will go better for me.

5. I will keep this journal every night and post by 10:30. Hopefully I will post sooner than this every night, but 10:30 is a good time because it will end my time on the computer and let my body get readjusted to the fact that it isn't light outside. Having this deadline everyday will help me keep some sort of routine. Which will be good.

So, there you have it, people. I'm not all that interesting, but hey, this blog isn't for you, anyways. So, all-in-all, my dad wasn't too happy about me losing my scholarship, but we ended the day on a good note. He just got a new job and cracked a joke saying, "Hey, I just got an $8,000 dollar raise! I guess it isn't as bad as we thought!" Besides my personal struggles and what-not, you will get a chance to read some of my writing and such.

Ladies and gents, it's a new year. It holds lots of promise for both you and me (yes, that is grammatically correct). Cheers!
